The Travel Section is Travelling!

This next week we are moving our travel section (Dewey 914-919.999) to a new home in the Reference Room, to create a user-friendly Travel Nook for our peripatetic patrons.   Some wildlife, bed and breakfast guides, camping and RV guides will also decorate the new section.  The Nook will include travelogues from all corners of the globe.

We will also soon be installing a mapping workstation for advance planning of routes and tours, from day hikes to round-the-world cruises.  All our computer stations are networked for printing boarding passes and other on-the-fly travel documents.

A standing question for our armchair and outward bound travellers alike–what flavor guides do you prefer?  Do you prefer Rough Guides over Insight?  Does Fodors beat Frommers?  Red or Green Michelin?  Which guides stand up on the road, and fire the journeying imagination?

Also, and most important…where do you want to go?  Finland, the South Pacific, Botswana, the Bering Sea…help us fill in the virtual map of our patron travels.
