The Wood River Valley is Open–We’re Inviting Everyone to Celebrate!
The Community Library is throwing an Open House Garden Party for everyone in our local Community, this Friday, from 4:00-6:00pm. We will be gathering on the south lawn on 4th Street between Regional History and the Children’s Library. Stop by to enjoy beverages and hors d’oeuvres, and meet with friends and network with neighbors. Our new Director, Cynthia Dillon, Board members, and Librarians will be available to talk with new visitors, patrons and supporters.
Don’t worry about weather–a little rain won’t stop us. We’ll just move the party inside to the stacks–Garden Party comes under “gazebo” (Dewey number 728.93)–but we plan to take over the whole west wing. Going to the Reckless Kelly concert? Tune up at the Library, and check out our wide collection of popular and classical music (which includes 4 CDs by Muzzie Braun as well as the Braun boys). Please stop on by!
The recent fire has impacted our local economy county-wide. At the height of the evacuations, 4th Street and Walnut Street were eerily deserted in the bright summer sun. On a normal Sunday in the high tourist season in Ketchum, cars line these streets and shoppers roam the local businesses, including the Gold Mine Thrift Store (on the right), a keystone support of The Community Library. The Gold Mine is having an epic sale right now through Saturday, and will have it’s Fall Grand Opening on September 12th.
Help us fill 4th Street this Friday, from 4:00-6:00! There’s a party @ the Community Library!
