Magazine Renewal Time–Vote on your favorite magazines @The Community Library

Once a year, we renew our collection of over a hundred periodicals, with titles running from Backpacking to Time Magazine, and subjects ranging from Archaeology to Yoga, and newspapers stretching from New York to San Francisco.  That means it is time for the 2nd Annual Basic, No-Frills Magazine Questionnaire.  Your vote counts!  Tell us what magazines you like to curl up with in front of the Library fireplace.

The questions are necessarily open-ended, but anonymous commenting is enabled on Denizens, so our readers can expound at will on which titles to keep, and which to consider deleting, and why.  We may have room for a new print title or three as well, as some magazines like PC World and Newsweek have devolved to online only access.  Let us know what we may be missing, in titles, subjects or viewpoints.  Our goal is to keep the collection broad and relevant for our readers.

Which magazines or newspapers in our collection do you read?

Which magazines or newspapers are we missing, that you wish we carried in the library stacks?

Are there any magazines we currently carry that you believe are no longer useful, relevant or interesting, and why?

Would you read a digital magazine or newspaper on one of our circulating iPads, rather than in print form?  Any favorites?

Give us your votes!

  1. Audubon Magazine for me 🙂

  2. Conde Nast Traveler!

    • We have it! 🙂 It is shelved alphabetically, between Backpacker and Connected Times in the magazine section. But we are looking into Travel and Leisure, as well. Art Frommers Budget Travel was suspended by the publisher, other travel magazine suggestions are appreciated!
